Mike Simpson moves between film worlds that rarely intersect. One week he's capturing intimate documentary moments, the next he's orchestrating the visual narrative for a Super Bowl commercial or VMA-nominated music video. This rare ability to shift between festival circuits and major brand campaigns while maintaining award-winning cinematography has made him one of the most sought-after DPs. Mike is lucky to be able to truly split his time between LA and NY and is constantly working in both cities.

Mike's commercial resume includes broadcast spots and Super Bowl spots, and includes brands such as Kia, Toyota, Nintendo, L'Oréal, Nike, Delta, Maybelline, Chase, Budweiser, Pringles, and many more.

Mike's narrative work has played at nearly all of the major festivals and earned him 'Best Cinematography' awards. "The Taiwan Oyster" had glowing reviews of the photography, Variety references the "sheer beauty of the frames" and Slackerwood calls the film "Stunningly Beautiful." More recent films include Boarding School by legendary director Boaz Yakin and The Estate, a super stylish dark murder comedy.

On the Doc side, Mike's recent work includes Zurawski v Texas, a film about the group of women suing the state of Texas over the recent anti-abortion laws and "Call Her Ganda," a film about a Filipina trans woman murdered by a US marine and the social and political repercussions that followed.

Mike's music video career exploded after his MTV VMA nomination (Best Cinematography) for Alt-J's song 'Left Hand Free.'

Additional music video artists include: Solange, J. Cole, Lil Wayne, David Byrne, Major Lazer, Disturbed, Rob Thomas, Danny Brown, Korn, Future, and many, many more.
